Message from the Exalted Ruler
For those who are unaware, Jim Lyons has stepped down as Trustee. At the meeting on November 20th the position was declared vacant, and an election was set for December 4th. Barb Schreiber was nominated for the post on the 20th. Nominations will again be accepted before the vote on the 4th. Thank you Jim for your time as trustee.
As you can see by the calendar, we have scheduled a meal for our Veterans this month. So far we have had a lot of members express an interest in helping. Thank you so much, and be expecting a meeting very soon to get organized. This is not an impossible task, but it will require a little work and coordination. We already have permission to use the DAV Hall. The meal will be on Tuesday, December 16th. Free tickets for the Vets should be available soon at the bar.
We also have the Kids Christmas Party on Friday, December 12th. Thanks to Penny Gallosa and Nancy Galvan for getting this organized. Kids and Grandkids are welcome. Sign up at the bar.
And the annual Afternoon New Year’s Party is again set for 2 pm on the 31st. $5, and we supply the party favors and champagne.
Well, we survived another annual visit from the District Deputy. DD Jack Cook found the office in fine shape, but ritual a little shaky. He will report to Chuck Williams, our state sponsor, and then the Lodge will receive a final report.
And on a sad note, I would personally, and on behalf of the Lodge, like to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Past Secretary John Gibson. He will be remembered always.
To all our members, have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Yours in Elkdom,
Mike Hedrick ER
